Finally finished the second pair of gloves for Kaylee (youngest daughter), it's only been a few weeks since they were started :-/
And this is the latch hook kit I bought on Sunday and finished about tea time tonight. My first latch hook attempt. Very pleased with myself :-)
Knitting, cooking, cross stitching... anything I make will be blogged about here XD (maybe even anything other family members make too)

Been a while hasn't it?
Well, looking back it seems like it was February since this was last updated so let's have a wee look at what I've done.
From the top:
This is a little dolly blanket I made from a daft knitting kit (just yarn and needles) for my youngest daughters dolls.
Pair of gloves in baby blue for my youngest daughter also. Pattern was taken from an old early 1940's pattern. Doing a pair in pink also.
Got bored and made muppets out of cravendale bottles.
A belt taken from simply knitting years ago that I finally finished.
Have been teaching myself crochet and this is a phone case I made from a kit.
Knitted Christmas wreath from Let's Get Crafting.
Crochet cushion from a kit.
Knitted cardigan for meeeee
Knitted and crocheted bits from another issue of let's get crafting (sent that picture in to the mag and won £50 hobbycraft vouchers!)
Knitted tea cosy :)
Started a yoga class so made this yoga mat strap from simply knitting.
Christmas baubles
Another crocheted cushion
Crocheted Christmas tea cosy
Skinny scarf from the art of knitting (years ago!) finally finished. Gave to my eldest daughter.
Crochet sleep mask for the MIL
Fingerless gloves for my mum as she liked the ones I made myself and asked for a pair.
Scarf and hat for Nik.
Christmas card for one of my Avon customers
Back of first mentioned crocheted cushion.
And the aforementioned fingerless gloves I made for myself :)
With my hobbycraft vouchers I bought my first latch hook kit. It's almost done and should be finished today!!!!
Until next time :-)

Little Finishes For My (New) Donation Pile
I bought Let's Knit Magazine on Sunday and the free gift was 3 small ball of yarn and a pattern for two pairs of baby socks. Well, since there are no young babies in my family now (and none going to happen, lol), I thought I'd make them up and donate them. I know a certainly lady who would be pleased to receive these for her charity. ;-)
The pair on the left are knitted on straight needles and the pair on the right are knitted on DPN's. My first project on DPN's! Even with colour changes they still turned ok! WOOOO

A Couple Of Weekend Stitchy Finishes
I put the knitting down on Thursday night before bed and haven't picked it up since. I've not lost interest, I was just working on something else.
Last Sunday (5th Feb) after the group (which my MIL attended for the first time), a little purchase was placed. My MIL (from here on in this post shall be known as Mum) & I decided to go into The Works to look at knitting books. Whilst there, we spotted a 'Keepsake Box' kit. This kit included a Stitchable Journal, Threads in white, blue and lavender, a needle threader (a double ended one which can be used for threading your yarn on to a darning needle), two tapestry needles, a 'Stitched By' sticker, a printed perforated card in a self adhesive card frame and a needlepoint guide. Did I mention the stitching is needlepoint? There was two of these boxes left so we both bought one each. Mum's didn't have the card band around hers to show what was included in the box but both had been opened. It wasn't until I got home I noticed the threads and sticker were missing from mine. Mum very kindly gave me hers as she wasn't going to use them.
The picture below shows the finished result. The perforated card and card frame were for the front of the box. So I hope you like it. On the left is the keepsake box with the finished design and on the right is the Stitchable journal.
Mum, if you would like me to stitch yours up then please let me know. There is plenty of those threads left.
Night night for now x

Another finish!
And it's not a hat. I do have one hat done but it needs sewing up. I have decided to leave the sewing of that hat until the other one is complete. I started that tonight.
My finish in question is my own creation.
I acquired 10 100g balls of Sirdar Bigga about 3 years ago. This yarn is no longer in production so finding a pattern to try and make it in to a blanket was a tough feat and I failed. So I created my very own Warm Linen Stitch Blankie for my son!
After 2 days and now a very sore arm and back ( as I progressed it got heavier so it weighed down my arm and now I have a strain! Lol), my son has a new Blankie. This is a very warm piece so he will benefit from it. It does seem narrow but it does the trick!
Who want to see a picture??? I thought so...
Group in the morning so it's night night for now xxx

Busy Bee Me 26/1/12
Not updated for a few days. I have been very busy getting my wee one's jacket done, now on to the second sleeve. This will be done before the weekend (the jacket, not just the sleeve).
Been kind of knocked back a bit, have the flu and now my back started to hurt around 4:30 this morning. But I'm suffering in vain, my darling Nik has been wonderful with all the help he has given me. He helped with the housework and washing this morning (lots of bending was involved so he helped greatly!)
Anyway, once this Jacket is finished I'll be making another 2 hats the same as my purpley slouchy hat for a friend and her daughter at their request. They won't take long at all.
I've been washing my hand knits in a product called Eucalan. It's a lanolin based no rinse product for hand knits and delicates with a eucalyptus fragrance (been sniffing it to clear my nose! Lol). You soak your items with it (1 gallon of tepid water to 5ml of Eucalan) for 15 minutes and you need to rinse. It's available from http://www.celticove.com and it's £3.80 for a 100ml bottle and £10.99 for a 500ml bottle.
Anyway, I have a picture of the jacket so far, displaying the back, the left front, the right front, one full sleeve and the other sleeve in progress.
See you all soon!

Done More! YIPPEE!!!
Done more on the wee one's jacket yesterday! I have now completed the left front and started on the right front. Very happy me!
Got a fast delivery this morning too... I ordered some more colour works yarn (my friend liked my slouchy hat so much she asked me to make one for her and one for her daughter in the same colour). Order was placed on www.celticcove.com yesterday afternoon and arrived this morning! Very impressed! Also got my first subs copy of Let's Get Crafting too :-)
Anyway, wee progress pic of the jacket. This is the left front.
Bye for now!

Update For Monday 16th January 2012 and Wednesday 18th January 2012
Not really had the chance to update my progress on my wee one's jacket but here is the back finished.
And I made the wee flower that goes on the front, just because I had a couple of minutes before my Avon delivery arrives.
Hopefully more to be updated later.
Off for now though.
Bright Blessing!

Flower, to be shaped and sewn on front. |
So I'm now on to the left front just now, not done too much this week. But I have a free day tomorrow (in theory) so here's hoping to have lots more done!

Let's Knit Glasgow Central Stitch 'n' Bitch
Well, I arrived late at my knitting group, stupid bus was very slow. But I was made to feel very welcome and at ease. I am one of the youngest of the ladies that were there, Aileen being the other youngest. We're both the same age. There was seven of us there when I arrived (that soon changed to 6, did I scare her off?) and I was informed that there is another 4 that attends, but not today.
Everyone seemed to take an interest in what I had on my pins. It felt nice. I was very happy to show them and show off my Sirdar Snuggly Kisses yarn that I'm using. Everyone seemed so friendly and it is a great thing to be part of their group. It gave me somewhere to go and knit and talk about knitting without boring the life out of my long suffering partner (God bless you Nik, you put up with a lot!).
So I managed to do more on my little one's jacket this morning, more than I thought I would and I met new people, BONUS!
Got a picture here so from left to right we have:
Doreen, Aileen, Janette, Margaret and Gillian.
Lovely ladies!!!!
Update on jacket later, I'm on the bus home and don't have a picture handy x
UPDATE: 2:52pm
Fixed my errors in the blog and here is a pic of my wee one's Jacket (what I've done so far):
You see it's longer now.... lol.
I have volunteered to take charge of the Let's Knit Glasgow Central Stitch 'n' Bitch blog. The ladies have all been so busy so I said I would gladly help out! You can find their blog here Glasgow Central Stitch 'n' Bitch. Looking forward to keeping their readers updated with all that's happening :)
Off to knit more so bye for now

Managed to get some (maybe 10 or 12 rows :-/ ) done on the wee one's jacket! Would have been more but my nephew and I were making this mad video. If he puts it on you tube I'll put a link in. Nearly peed myself while making the vid!
Early start in the morning!!! Going to the Let's Knit Glasgow Central Stitch 'n' Bitch in Cafe Nero In the morning so I better get some shut eye!
No pic of the progress tonight but hopefully will have loads to show tomorrow of the group!
So night just now my readers and don't forget to follow my blog!

Remember What I Said This Afternoon.....
.... about working on my little one's jacket? Hmmm... well, I didn't. Got caught up in other things, including this computer so it looks like it'll be staying off for at least another week just to get this progressed a bit more.
I'm actually quite ashamed but maybe a night off knitting will do me some good. I think it has actually.
Back to it tomorrow now and NO EXCUSES! LOL.
Right now I'm off to bed.
Night all

NEW HAT!!! And an OOPS!
Well, nothing got done on my wee ones jacket since my last update (almost a week) simply because I was doing what should have been a smaller project.... should have only taken a couple of days but I had to keep frogging the blooming thing!
So here it is. Patons Slouchy Hat (from a kit to make either a hat OR scarf OR fingerless gloves) worked in Patons Colour Works Aran shade number 85.
I am really pleased with this.
The kit was purchased from Deramores and cost £11.69. This is the exact page. In the kit you get 2 x 50g (120m/131yds) balls of Patons Colour Works Aran in Shade 85, a pair of 6mm straight needles (advice, use longer needles instead of the pair in the kit as they are too short), and the pattern to make either the above Slouchy Hat, a Scarf or a pair of Fingerless Gloves. I chose the hat as you can tell (DUH) as I thought it was much more funky and very trendy!
Now for the OOPS! part of the blog.... poor Jacket hasn't been touched so tonight it's about that! So hopefully more and more progress pics for you all!
Stay safe, stay happy and keep crafting!
